Birthday Reflections: Growth, Faith & Financial Freedom

Birthday Reflections: Growth, Faith & Financial Freedom

Hey bestie,

As this birthday approaches, I find myself reflecting more than usual.

Not in a rushed way or a checklist kind of way — but in a quiet, intentional way. The kind of reflection that comes from lived experience. From seasons of growth, lessons learned, and moments where faith had to lead before clarity ever showed up.

This year, I feel deeply grateful.

Grateful for the versions of me that kept going even when things felt uncertain. Grateful for the lessons that stretched me and shaped me. Grateful for the seasons that slowed me down enough to hear God more clearly and trust the process instead of rushing it.

One thing I don’t take lightly is walking through life with my built-in best friend — my twin sister, Dr. Sarenthia Epps. In case the world forgot… yes, I’m a twin. And having someone who’s known me from the very beginning, who understands me without explanation, and who has seen every version of me is truly a blessing.

Being a twin has taught me balance, individuality, and the importance of support. We’ve taken different paths, but the connection has always remained strong. There’s comfort in knowing someone can remind you who you are when life feels heavy.

This season has also reshaped what financial freedom means to me.

It’s not about excess or appearances. It’s about peace. It’s about options. It’s about knowing I can rest without fear, pivot without panic, and build without burning myself out. True freedom looks like alignment — financially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Faith has carried me through seasons that didn’t make sense at the time. Looking back now, I can see how every delay, every detour, and every closed door was preparing me for what I needed next.

If you’re reading this and feeling behind, uncertain, or questioning your timeline, let this be your reminder: you are not late. You are growing. And growth happens in layers.

As I step into this next year, I’m choosing gratitude over comparison, faith over fear, and intention over urgency. I’m honoring the journey, trusting the process, and welcoming what’s ahead with an open heart.
